Important update for Rockwool SP60 and SP120 FireStop Slabs for vertical use in cavities

We have received an important update regarding a change for the fire rating of Rockwool SP60 and SP120 products, when used in a 301mm+ cavity in a vertical application.

The product has been independently tested to determine the reaction to fire performance, achieving Euroclass A1 non-combustible in accordance with BS-EN13501-1.

The certification body for assessment of application-specific fire resistance has recently renewed and narrowed its parameters for test-based assessments. Therefore, the use of SP FireStop in a vertical orientation in cavities between 301mm and 400mm wide now falls outside the scope of the third-party approval.
