Ecophon & Minster – building success together

Specialists in the production of acoustic wall and ceiling systems, Ecophon is one of the construction industry’s most well-known and trusted interior solutions brands. From homes to healthcare buildings, schools, hotels and factories, Ecophon products are featured in buildings across the globe.

As one of the brand’s trusted distributors, Minster has been working with the team at Ecophon for many years, supplying its products to projects up and down the country. Demonstrating the efficiency of Minster operations and the quality of service provided, collaboration between the two brands has continued to flourish, expanding year on year.

Here, Iain Mudie, Minster’s Regional Director (Scotland, North East & Cumbria) and Scott Kinnaird, Ecophon’s Area Manager in Scotland North & East discuss their work together in more detail:

Iain begins, “The team at Ecophon are great to work with and it is undoubtedly the strength of our relationship with them that has ensured the partnership is a continuing success.  Effective collaboration is something that develops over time and our close work together on many projects over the years has undoubtedly cemented this.

“It’s the communication between our teams that really makes the partnership. The Minster team is easy and straightforward to work with and we know that they will do what they say they will.”

     -    Scott Kinnaird, Area Manager (Scotland North & East), Ecophon

Scott continued “It’s the communication between our teams that really makes the partnership. The Minster team is easy and straightforward to work with and we know that they will do what they say will. We meet in person very regularly; collaborate and share project/market information where appropriate and communicate openly. We both have great relationships with the contractors and sub-contractors we work with too which is really beneficial as the project net widens and more parties become involved. The trust and openness we have built is reciprocal and we work together to ensure objectives are met.”

Scott and Iain have collaborated on many projects since 2017 but the last couple of years has seen the relationship grow further. Scott commented “Minster is one of our key distributors and we look forward to every project we work together on.  With the ease and success achieved on each project, it makes sense to work together on another, and so the amount of work we are doing together is growing.”

Iain added “We recently worked together on the development of two primary schools in Scotland and thanks to the collaboration between our two teams the whole project ran smoothly and efficiently. Right from the very start, from the specification stage, we knew that Ecophon systems would offer an ideal solution and through careful planning and ordering, we ensured that products were supplied efficiently, sustainably and on-time to the contractor.”

Scott said: “One of Minster’s many strengths is planning and we have been impressed with how efficiently they operate. Where possible, orders are made well in advance and with one eye on supply chain sustainability, they ensure full loads are ordered to minimise carbon footprint benefitting the environment and supporting our mutual efforts to achieve net zero.”

Goal alignment is a common theme discussed by Iain and Scott, “At the end of the day we are both trying to achieve growth for our businesses” begins Iain “and to do this we are committed to working together to provide a quality, professional and expert solution. Having shared objectives has huge advantages. It enhances our performance; ensuring we are more proactive and focussed on continuous improvement, whilst driving us to optimise our processes and allowing us to provide the most reliable and cost-effective solutions for our customers.”

“Close collaboration brings nothing but benefits to everyone involved in the construction process” concludes Scott “and it is proving a resounding success for the projects we work on with Minster.”
