Product Supply Availability Update - December 2021
2021 has once again proven to be challenging, presenting several significant product availability issues with extended lead-times and allocation challenges. An intense coordinated effort from the entirety of our business has helped us to ensure the arrival of products.
Our suppliers have reported back, that the level of communication, agility and flexibility that Saint-Gobain teams have provided, has been outstanding.
We appreciate that during the prolonged period of imposed allocations we could have done with more products, but thanks to your help, loyalty, and support, we have managed to prioritise. We have done our utmost to keep customers serviced with their product requirements.
One of the learnings of recent times is that it takes relatively minor incidents to disrupt product availability. As a result, the Procurement and Supply chain teams within Saint-Gobain continue to work even more closely with our strategic suppliers to mitigate the risks from within our supply chains. We anticipate that allocation processes will continue for glass wool products and extended lead times for Rockwool products will remain in the short-to-medium term. Encouragingly though, we are now off allocation for some PIR and Plasterboard products. The significant challenges we have been experiencing around raw materials and haulier availability are starting to ease.
We will continue to operate our best-in-class practices with our suppliers in 2022 and will do all we can to minimise any supply chain impacts so our valued customers can keep trading with us.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Minster.
