Tara Wilson, an Area Sales Manager at Minster Aylesford will be lining up alongside 25, 000 budding runners and taking part in The World’s Largest Running Series, the Bupa`s Great South Run on Sunday 27th October 2013.
With an aim to raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, the 10 mile run will take Tara past Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard and the beautiful views of the Isle of Wight.
Having signed up for the race in January 2013, Tara was determined to drive her fitness levels up and began a pro like diet that included water, isotonic drinks and a daily, healthy portion of fruit & veg to compliment her new training regime.
Tara speaks candidly about why she has decided to take part in the run saying:
“My energy and passion was drawn to charity – Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research – when one of my closest friends lost their 28 year old daughter to this cancer in November 2012. She left behind a husband and two young children and I, as I`m sure many of you have experienced, watched the devastation that this illness brings in its wake.”
The event will be broadcasted live on Channel 5 and Tara has set up a fundraising page here www.justgiving.com/tarawilson
Everyone at Minster is behind Tara and we applaud her efforts!
