This year’s fundraising initiative, Store Wars 2013, has raised an astounding £66,847.64p for the Barnardo’s charity. Three Saint-Gobain brands, including Minster, put forward a total of 16 teams in what already promises to be the most successful Store Wars event to date.
All participating teams came up with some fantastic fundraising ideas and the overall winner was our Minster Northern team!
Store Wars kicked off by having all 16 teams put to the test as they took charge of a Barnardo’s store for the day in an attempt to increase the takings at the local store.
Our MD, Chris Whitlock said: “Well done to both Minster teams for all of their fundraising efforts and huge congratulations to the Minster North team of: David Morrison, Wayne Markillie, Steve Jackson, Paul Lodge, Craig Smith, Scott Goodwin, Mark Beeton, Paul Heron, Steve Davies, and Tony Farley.”
He added: “The combined total raised by all competing teams was an incredible amount. This is a brilliant achievement and one that Minster as a whole should be proud of having contributed towards. The money will go directly to supporting vulnerable children and young people across the UK.”
Fundraising initiatives by the Northern team included bag packing at the local M&S store, appealing to the public with collection tins, and a tombola with a selection of donated prizes for shoppers.
Our team from the North are set to be presented with certificates to congratulate them on the excellent work they did.
